This week we welcome our new teacher trainee Olivia Johansson from Jönköping University. She will be with us for five weeks and teaches grade one.
This weeks topic “Save the planet” was very educational. On Wednesday all classes had activities together. In the morning we started with different work stations planned and led by our oldest students. They did excellent work with teaching the younger students how we can be more climate friendly in school and in our everyday life. They also showed interesting Power Point presentations about our earth and climate. We all learnt a lot this week about our beautiful planet and how we can keep it safe. Please find photos from this theme on our Facebook page. https://www.facebook.com/svenskaskolaniWien/
Sportlov – School is closed
Our annual reading project starts Monday the 25th of February and will continue over two weeks. This project is a collaboration with other Swedish schools abroad. In the individual part the children are supposed to read as much as possible over these two weeks. In class we will be learning more about reading strategies. All results will be part of a competition with the other schools. Attached to this email please find more information.
We would appreciate if the students in first and second grade could bring Swedish books to School – if you have some at home. The idea is to lend out to the other classmates. Then the students have more books to choose from. Remember to write the child’s name in the book
Now we wish you all a lovely holiday week!
