Director's Message

Susanne Hiort 

My name is Susanne Hiort and I have worked at the Swedish School since 2002. I started out as a teacher and when asked to become the principal in 2009 I immediately said yes! This is a decision I have never regretted and I love coming to school every single day. I am proud of being the principal of the Swedish School in Vienna and together with my dedicated staff we have developed a truly unique learning environment. 

Our golden rules provide guidance and enable us to help children become strong, independent and responsible individuals who show respect and consideration toward others. Each child needs the opportunity to build on its strengths and develop self-confidence at its own pace. The team at the Swedish School emphasizes Scandinavian as well as international learning and adheres to our motto 

 ”Children who feel happy and secure are well prepared for life.”
