Supplementary Swedish Education

At the Swedish School, we offer supplementary education in Swedish for children with a Swedish connection who attend regular schooling elsewhere. Our program is designed to strengthen and develop their Swedish language skills in both speaking and writing.

Beyond language, we immerse students in Swedish culture, traditions, geography, history, and social studies. Current events in Sweden are also an integral part of our lessons. Our facilities include an extensive library of Swedish books and weekly magazines tailored for children.

Our program caters to children aged 6 to 16 and is held one afternoon per week. Classes are led by qualified Swedish teachers, and students are grouped by age and language proficiency to ensure a personalized learning experience. From grade 6 onwards, students continue their Swedish studies through Sofia Distans (www.sofiadistans.nu), receiving biweekly supervision from our staff.

We follow the Swedish National Agency for Education's curriculum for supplementary Swedish education abroad (Kursplan i svenska för kompletterande undervisning för svenska elever i utlandet)(länk behövs), ensuring a high standard of instruction.
